Women's Retreat

This group sponsors an annual retreat for the women of the parish. This year the women's retreat, "Gifts from the Sea," will be held at Villa Maria del Mar in Santa Cruz (follow the link to their website for more info on this beautiful site) from September 28 to September 30, 2007.

Women's Book Group

The Women’s Ministry Book Group invites women to share in discussions of an inspirational or spiritual book on the 4th Tuesday of each month.  This is an opportunity for women of faith to connect with one another, particularly around their love of literature.

The St. Martin Women's Book Group selections for the coming months in 2007 and 2008 are as follows:

  • September 25 - "I Feel Bad about my Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman" by Nora Ephron
  • October 23 - "Measure of a Man" by Sydney Portier
  • November 27 - Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time" by Greg Mortenson
    and David Oliver Relin
  • January 22 - "Mary Called Magdelene" by Margaret George
  • February 26 - "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khalid Hosseini
  • March 25 - "Saving the World" by Julia Alvarez
  • April 22 - "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert
  • May 27 - "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen
  • June 24 - "Saving Fish from Drowning" by Amy Tan

Other books suggested at our August 2007meeting were the following:
